What better way to start 2023 than with a sunrise elopement/vow renewal in Oahu?! Shara and Logan met in San Francisco in 2018 via the good ole dating app. They got married pretty quickly and decided to make it a little bit more official later on.

(Enter me… she says in parentheses)

But really, enter me as the lucky photographer who got to witness this day.

Shara, being from Oahu, decided with Logan to have their celebration on-island and have family present this time to witness their elopement and vow renewal. So many aspects of their wedding had personal touches. The arch, florals, and more were contributed by family and friends including the beautiful (and huge) monstera leaves… which we’ll get to later. The ceremony was officiated by Logan’s childhood friend and was beautiful, personable, and definitely funny. Overall, this day was amazing and encompassed all things I love about an intimate wedding and elopement celebrations.

Shara and Logan had such silliness with each other that they made my job so incredibly easy. I love getting to know little details about my couples to incorporate in a session. For Shara and Logan, they shared that they have a lot of inside jokes including making up random characters. Snapping away, I know I heard some pretty nice southern accents! We shared stories and so much laughs… and of course took pictures with the huge monstera leaves!

They later moved the celebration over to Halekulani in the beautiful Hau Terrace Room and we were able to continue bride and groom portraits around the hotel with more laughs and silliness. Remember when I mentioned that I like to capture each couple’s quirks, personalties, and little things that make them them? Shara shared that Logan will always read a sign that he comes across. So, of course, I needed to capture him reading the signage for the beautiful tree there. I also learned that Shara and Logan decided to combine their last names and so, to close, I hope you enjoyed this blog featuring…

Mr. and Mrs. Shimmer!

Thank you to you both for allowing me to be a part of your day.
