This has gotta be one of my favorite elopements to date! I first started talking to Jazstyn in May 2021 where Jazstyn wanted to get couples photos during her visit to Dylan who is stationed on island. During the planning and get-to-know-you process, Dylan privately shared that he would be proposing to Jazstyn and this shoot was going to also serve as their engagement photos. When Dylan shared this I had such a huge smile on my face! We even talked about possible spots he could do his proposal. I officially met them in person in September 2021 for their shoot and it was such a good time. They told me they had never taken photos before and feared they would be awkward, but that was not the case at all… they did FANTASTIC. I asked about their wedding plans and they said they would be planning to return home to Kansas for their wedding.
SO! Color me surprised when Jazstyn reached out to me soon after their engagement and decided they were going to have an intimate elopement in November!
From there we went into quick planning mode and made it happen. They decided on the Full Elopement package which is perfect for getting ready photos, details, ceremony, bride and groom portraits, and reception.
We started at their new home and even got a bit of non-traditional getting ready photos of the bride and groom together.
Next, we headed over to our ceremony location. With the beautiful Ko’olau Range one way and Mokoli’i (aka Chinaman’s Hat) the other way. Such a gorgeous backdrop for Jazstyn and Dylan. The ceremony officiated by Wild and Free Elopements, was intimate and sweet. Jazstyn and Dylan decided on doing their vows privately and followed it with their first dance as man and wife.
After the ceremony and portraits, we headed back to Jazstyn and Dylan’s home for some final photos of champagne and cake cutting. I absolutely love that some of their photos are within their new home. It brings a new level of intimate elopement that gives me all the feels
Jazstyn and Dylan made their elopement their own and into something that fit what represented them. I think that’s why elopements are my favorite. They can be shaped into anything you want that fits your style and personality!
