I have to take a trip back to this effortlessly cool wedding with Katie and Howard. While this wedding may have been from 2024, it’s still one that I come back to because I just loved the whole vibe of the wedding… epic, bold, and out of this world.
The wedding day started with the bridal party photos and first look. With the beautiful backdrop of the Ko`olau’s this was something that is out of a fairy tale. This entire time was full of joy and laughter, (despite the many poop piles on the ground). The vibes were immaculate.

If you’ve ever visited Kualoa Ranch they have a movie tour activity that shows the areas where different movies were filmed including Jumanji and Jurassic Park. Katie and Howard’s wedding ceremony was set at the “Jumanji” area. What better way to tie the knot than with this stunning backdrop.

Returning to the reception, that celestial theme ran through and through. The colors were bold and little touches for guest entertainment were amazing. One of the things I asked was what Katie and Howard were looking for in a photographer. Amongst the typical logistics of wedding photography, they also wanted a natural style.

The program had its speeches and cake cutting of course, but my favorite part… the dances. First, Howard danced with Katie’s mom and aunts. Next, we had the father-daughter dance with Katie and her dad. It quickly invited all fathers and daughters for such a beautiful moment. Another dance incorporated was inviting married couples to the dance floor. The DJ periodically announced couples to stay on the floor if they were married more than 1 year, more than 5 years, more than 10 years, and so and so far until we were left with those married for many years. Like I said, the vibes were immaculate and filled with so much love. You could see that Katie and Howard wanted to make their day about everyone. Side note, the wedding cake. Amazing.
